Old Alameda Bridge

SMALL | LARGE

When the new, four-lane Alameda Bridge over the Rio Grande was built to handle the increase in traffic caused by the growth of the Westside of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, the Old Alameda Bridge became a walking, jogging and horse-crossing bridge.

Connecting the east and west side of the Rio Grande Valley State Park and the Corrales Bosque Reserve north of State 528/Alameda Blvd on the west side of the river.

It’s a great way for visitors to get up close to the Rio Grande and the Bosque, Spanish for forest or woods.

There is parking at the Rio Grande/Alameda Open Space on the south side of Alameda Blvd and east of the river that provides access to the bike/jogging path on the east side of the river
