The Ride Up

56K WMV | Broadband WMV

The video of The Ride Up (Dialup / Broadband) the Sandia Peak Tramway show you what a trip is like on the World’s Longest Aerial Tramway. It sweeps you from the Base Terminal to over 10,000 feet above sea level at the Sandia Peak. Once there you can have lunch or dinner at the High Finance Restaurant and Tavern.

In the winter, Albuquerque skiers avoid the long drive around the mountain to the Sandia Peak Ski Area, by taking the Tram right to the top of the runs.

The view of Albuquerque from the Base of the Sandia Peak Tramway is good, especially the sparkling lights of the city at sunset. From the Top of the Sandia Peak Tramway you can not only see all of Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Corrales from Two Miles up, but much of western New Mexico as far out as Mount Taylor near Grants.

Address: 10 Tramway Loop NE, Albuquerque, NM 87122

Phone: (505) 242-9052

Directions: From the “Big I” go north on Interstate 25, through Albuquerque, to the Tramway Road exit. Drive east on Tramway towards the Sandia Mountains past the Sandia Resort and Casino. As you near the foothills of the mountain, Tramway Road will curve south, becoming Sandia Boulevard at a 3-way stop sign. Turn left or east towards the mountain on Tramway Loop which will lead up to the Base of the Tram.

There is a fee to get on the grounds that you pay at a toll booth on Tramway Loop
